Care Services Improvement Partnership - Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT)
Pearl Consultancy Services worked alongside CSIP Northwest (Formerly National Institute for Mental Health in England) to support Primary Care Trusts in the NW region to understand how improving access to treatments, such as psychological therapies, through a Stepped Care Model can improve peoples well being, as well as prevent them from going on to develop more serious mental health problems and potentially being admitted to hospital. The first phase of the IAPT work is now completed and copies of the report ‘Treating Common Mental Health Problems Through Stepped Care’ which Pearl Consultancy contributed to can be downloaded on our publications page
Evaluation of differing models of cCBT implementation
As part of the IAPT programme, the Northwest and Northeast CSIP Regional development Centres have commissioned Pearl Consultancy Services to conduct an evaluation of differing models of implementing Computerised Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (cCBT).
Barnardo's - Liverpool Practice Survey & Families Affected by Mental Distress in Liverpool (FAMILY) Collaborative
Pearl Consultancy Services is working with health, social care and third sector agencies on a project designed to generate a shared understanding of ‘care pathways’ across child and adult service systems for parents with mental health difficulties and their children in Liverpool. The first phase consisted of a facilitated review of existing pathway arrangements in Liverpool, including recommendations for ways of achieving improved outcomes, with the second phase focusing on implementation of findings. The context is one of significant organisational change and a substantial service improvement agenda. The areas that fall within the scope of the work include:
➢ Specialist adult mental health services
➢ Children’s services including CAMHS
➢ Primary care mental health services
➢ Children’s commissioning
➢ Adult mental health commissioning
Routine Outcomes Collaborative
The CSIP Northwest ‘Routine Outcomes Collaborative’ (R.O.C.) was launched in July 2006. The programme utilises a proven collaborative method and is designed to ensure the use of outcome measures during the routine practice of mental health service delivery. The primary objective of the collaborative is to ensure that outcome measure data are collected, analysed, studied and used to inform service improvements where necessary. Pearl Consultancy Services is supporting R.O.C. participants by providing Service Improvement Training, facilitation, data analysis & interpretation and systems redesign support.
